Michael R Cassidy, MD, is a surgical oncologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and an expert in treating breast cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, skin cancers, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Cassidy is also Medical Director of the Belkin Breast Health Center and Associate Professor of Surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and complex general surgical oncology. Dr. Cassidy received his medical degree from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, followed by residency in general surgery at BMC, including a research fellowship in surgical quality improvement and patient safety. He went on to complete a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before joining the BMC Department of Surgery as an attending surgeon in 2017.
